Gravenhurst Zoning By-law Amendment - Open House (18 Sep 2010)

This public meeting is to obtain public comments and for Council to consider a proposed amendment to the Town's new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2010-04. The amendment specifically addresses "Non-complying Dwellings within the Required Setback from the Optimal Summer Water Level".

This zoning by-law amendment may affect Kahshe Lake waterfront residents who may be planning modifications to their cottages / homes.

The wording of the amendment has been the subject of negotiations between the Town and representatives of the Kahshe Lake Ratepayers' Association and the Muldrew Lakes Cottagers' Association, assisted by others. The negotiations were initiated in an attempt to settle appeals by the KLRA and the MLCA of the section of the by-law that governs extension or modification of exisiting buildings that are within 30m of the water.

The KLRA Board of Directors has voted to support this amendment.

More information about the meeting and the amendment can be found at the Town's website: gravenhurst.ca .
