  Introducing a new photo contest all about being a kid at Kahshe Lake

  Junior Division:  Best photo of Kahshe Lake people, places or things by a Kahshe Lake kid 12 or under.

   

  First Prize: A set of four tickets for a family-themed cruise on the Segwun*

  Runner Up: A nature print by Gabor, Kahshe Prints

                                                                

  Open Division:  Best photo of kids being kids on Kahshe Lake taken by a person over 12. 

                      

  First Prize: A set of four tickets on a family steamship cruise on the Segwun.**

  Got the picture?

  Submit a maximum of three photos to kidsphotocontest@kahshelake.ca in jpeg format attached to an e-mail which includes the full name, age, address, and local telephone number of the photographer before 6 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010.

   

  Entries will be judged by an independent panel on Saturday, July 31, 2010. All entries will be posted on the KLRA website (www.kahshelake.ca) and displayed at the Kahshe Lake Craft Show on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Rockhaven Inn.

   

  The two winning entrants from the Junior Division and the Open Division will be announced at NOON

  at the Kahshe Lake Country Craft Show on August 1, 2010.

   

  *Noah's Ark Adventure Cruise - All aboard the R.M.S. Segwun for a wild and wooly adventure cruise. Hosted by our on-board critters including minght mammals, birds & slithery snakes, our 1 hour voyage will take two and four legged folk across the wilds of Lake Muskoka! Discover more about your favourite animals with firends from Muskoka Wildlife Centre on board and don't forget to pick up your furry loot bag?? Wednesdays during July and August 10:00 am - 11:00 am
   
  **For our Youngest Sailors (and their families) - Magic on Muskoka - July & August Weekly Sundays 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Let the Amazing Corbin dazzle you with a spectacular array of "believe it or not" magic! Families will also enjoy a Boston Pizza buffet dinner.

• Barn Dances

  There will  be  a series of the very popular Barn Dances again this summer beginning with July 3 and continuiing on July 31 and September 4.

  The dances are held in Denne's barn, about 250 meters north of the North Kahshe Lake Road at Denne's Marina.

  Cost of admission is $5.00.  Children 12 and under are free.  Everyone is welcome.

• Kahshe Country Craft Show

  The 28th edition of the Kahshe Country Craft Show and Sale is ready to go.

  We've already lined up some exciting new vendors for you as well as new family-friendly activities:

  *A make-it and take-it craft table for the kids.

  *A special Kahshe Lake reading series by local authors.

  *A bigger and better bake table.

  There will be lots more: that's a promise. Especially if I can gather more cottagers willing to work with their neighbours to celebrate the great lakeside life we have on Kahshe.

• Kahshe Lake Regatta

  Save this date for the spectacular 2010 Kahshe Lake Regatta.

  This is a great day for the kids and grandkids.  There are races on land and in the water. A cardboard boat race.

  There are free hotdogs and water for all and ribbons for participants

  The action at Nagaya Beach starts at 10:00 a.m. and continues until 2:00.

  Volunteers will be needed. To offer your assistance, call Marilyn Tuero at  705-689-1821 and leave a message or e-mail her at regatta@kahshelake.ca.

  This event is sponsored by the KLRA.  There will be a KLRA table where you can pay your membership and buy a copy of The Healing Waters of Kahshe Lake, Volumes 1 and 2.
