The Toronto Zoo operates a wetland conservation programme called Adopt-A-Pond.  Within it they have a couple of community based information gathering programmes that might be fun for kids around Kahshe in the summer.

    • Ontario Turtle Tally - records where Ontario turtles survive, what threatens their populations and where the habitat that sustains them is found.
    • Frogwatch Ontario - helps identify Ontario toads and frogs, their unique calls and the special places where they live.

The Zoo has a website with lots of information and forms to record your observations.  The address is http://www.torontozoo.com/AdoptAPond/ .

I didn't see any recipes for frog's legs or turtle soup, but maybe I'm missing the point.  Kids, please enlighten me.
