Housey's Rapids Picnic
The Housey’s Rapids Picnic began in the early sixties as a small 4-5 family get-together in the channel immediately west of the river linking Bass and Kahshe Lakes.
Each year saw more families involved and the event was held at several locations over the years until it finally took up permanent residence at Bass Lake Park in the eighties.
It was the highlight of the Housey’s Rapids Lake Residents’ Association events programme and has been a KLRA favourite for east-siders and adventurous west-siders since the two associations merged in 2006.
The Picnic features games for the kids, games for the adults, a kids’ craft table, the Kahshe Boutique, free water, hot-dogs and sausages, and an amazing “Choose-Your-Own-Prize” Raffle.
