2016 Kermit Long Fishing Derby

On a HOT day when most kids want to swim, 31 anglers took part in the Kermit Long Fishing Derby on Saturday, July 23. In all, they brought in over seventy fish. Small mouth bass accounted for nearly a fourth of all fish.....a sign of good fishing in the future

The winner of the largest fish for those 13-15 years old was Megan Davies. The 24 3/4 inch pike was the first fish she ever caught! Awesome. The longest fish for the 12 and under anglers was a 25 7/8 pike caught by Emma DeZiel; second longest was Ashley Wayland's 17 7/8 inch small mouth bass; and third place was Adam Lundy's 17 3/4 inch large mouth bass. Nice fish!
